Denis' leadership demonstrated to Harcourtthe future of digital media in education, and incorporated student collaboration via Student Online Communities, Teacher-led Online Learning Initiatives, and qualified web resources offering child-safe Internet content.

Additional accomplishments for Harcourt included the direction and implementation of digital products for educational trade shows and the implementation and deployment of the Harcourt School Divisions Media Center, a state of the art facility for multi-media presentation, product assessments, and focus groups for product development.

Denis has also produced WAP based applications for cellular phones extending lifestyle technology in the handheld arena.  In addition, he directed the development of an online learning portal and professional certification environments that included ancillary materials, practice tests, in a web-based environment, including cross-marketing branding activities. 

Later while serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Brainbuzz.com, Denis led the efforts for development of social communities and education product development for the Career Portals professional development and certifications site for online self-paced education. 

Most recently, Denis has served as a Senior Technology Architect consultant deployed by Apple Computer to one of the country’s largest school districts to develop numerous dashboard widgets to introduce child-safe Internet learning environments with safe-browser technology.  Denis also provided the school district with architectures for web enabling their legacy applications that could then better promote online learning in the deployment of the district’s IBM’s Websphere Portal while also addressing compatibility issues to the Macintosh PC environment to insure compatibility with educational platforms.

Other Education Oriented Activities:

Denis' expertise also extends to the college level, having served as adjunct faculty in a number of online university environments.  This responsibility included the development of online curriculum and assessment for online educational environments.
