Building innovative sandcastles requires not only the creative passionately patient sandcastle sculptors, but equally as important is the need for a constant source of outside of the box concepts upon which to build these exploratory research and development projects. Below are but a few of the outside of the box concepts that have been inspired by some of the world’s most creative visionaries specializing in those elements that can positively impact how a safe digital world will improve the learning opportunities for all learners.

digital learning apartheid^sm

When the average financially disadvantaged have-not learners return from school to home, they enter a world of total digital isolation: a Digital Educational Apartheid. These learners, with no convenient at-home Internet access, do not have an equal opportunity to expand their use of their at-school digital learning skills. 

have-not learners^sm

We realize that the more generally accepted term for this class of students is at-risk, we have chosen instead to use the term have-not learners^sm to clarify the cause and severity of their situation and to also broaden the scope to include former dropout students who wish to use the re-education process to gain more meaningful employment.

millennial learners

The latest research on our student-learners’ view of the current state of education in America indicates that young people find traditional education irrelevant, uninteresting and unchallenging.  This new breed of learners is commonly referred to as digital millennials.

social media

Social media describes the online, tools, and platforms people use to share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other.

eContent

eContent is a more recently developed term, first used in the library and museum worlds to embody a broader vision of open content.

Uses thousands of overlapping WiFi service zones to provide blanket coverage over a municipal area.
